New Product Idea

Have a new product that needs development?  BWG's Engineering Department  will work with you from concept to completion to create a product to meet your exact design specifications.  When you ask us for something new, R&D and Engineering will discuss the product and develop designs concepts.  Once agreed upon, a prototype will be developed to prove the concept.

Prototype

A rough prototype can be created to demonstrate a design concept.  The design team will review the project and if approved, a prototype part is printed on our in-house 3-D printer.

The 3-D printer produces a usable ABS representation of the part within a matter of hours.  This allows development time to go from weeks to days and gives us is the freedom to try new and innovative concepts without worrying about large additional costs.  Once complete, the prototype part is tested for functionality and refined if necessary. The final part is then sent for customer review and feedback before it is sent to molding.

Molding

Once a prototype part is approved by the customer, the drawing is sent to our mold shop where MasterCAM software interfaces with our CNC mills and lathes.  No outside mold makers are required so we are able control when a project will be completed.

Once the mold is finished it is sampled and a first article is produced. QC inspection reviews the product and, samples are reviewed by the customer, molding, assembly, R&D, engineering, design, tooling, operations, purchasing and sales prior to final approval.  Once approved, the part is sent to production runs.

Production

Our production molding machines range from 85 to 400 ton capacities and can handle shot sizes as large as 71 ounces.  The machines can run most thermoplastic materials including PVC, ABS, Acetal, Acrylic, Delrin, Celcon, Polypropylene and Hercuprene.  Computerized molding machines ensure consistent quality.

Need a different color, shape or size?  We have flexible programs to meet any special needs that you may have.
